Info

Welcome to the Edge Info Page

On this page, you will find more info about our services, learn what Termites look like, as well as how to spot them.

During The Inspection

During our visit our inspector will first go around the outside of your home, tapping around to find damage not visible at first glance. After the outside inspection, if you have seen anything on the interior, that will also be looked at. They will also be creating a detailed map of all evidence of termites or damage, so you will get a clear view of where the problems are located and how severe it may be. After the initial inspection is finished, the inspector will give you your estimate as well as answer any questions you may have at the time.

Moving Forward With Us

After you have received your estimate and copy of the inspection map and decided to move forward with us, we will contact you to schedule a treatment and/or wood replacement date. On the day your service is scheduled you will not need to vacate your home, wrap up any belongings, or worry about any chemicals. We use chemicals that are specifically made to target those little home invaders, and they are injected directly into the damaged areas. These chemicals are currently those most effective and long-lasting solutions for termite treatment.

Treatment Explained

The chemicals we employ are known as Timbor and Termidor. These chemicals are so effective because of their delayed effects, so if you still notice activity after your service day, there is no need to worry. These chemicals are designed to go unnoticed by the insects in question, and only take effect after they've already spread it throughout their tunnel system. Contact termiticides are far less effective due to the instant killing effects, which let surviving termites know to avoid that area and start creating new pathways.

Our Warranty

We here at Edge offer a 1 to 3 year warranty for after the work has been completed. This means that if you spot any further activity not found during the inspection or the treatment, anywhere on your property, we will come back out and treat it with no additional charge. When your warranty's expiration date is approaching, we will reach out to you about potential renewal. We also have a referral program, so if you send any new customers our way, you will get a extra year on your warranty per referral.

A little more on Treatment

We want to make it absolutely clear that local treatment is our specialty. We always want to avoid tenting, so you will never even have to think about relocating, bagging food, or nasty chemical odors. If your job involves severe wood damage that cannot be fixed with a simple patch, when it is replaced, we will make sure to color match with the surrounding paint, so you don't have to deal with any mismatched wood.

Types of Termites and how to Spot Them

The different types of termites are Drywood and Subterranean Termites. Drywood Termites will leave behind visible evidence such as very specific sandy droppings, along with wings usually around windowsills. Subterranean Termites will be found leaving mud tubes in places like the garage, kitchen, and bathrooms. They can be the cause of jammed doorways, loose and squeaky floorboards. Like drywood termites they leave behind wings on the floors and windowsills, And also leave wood sounding hollow.
